Over the past few years, security cameras have become increasingly popular with residential consumers.

This is mainly due to more affordable pricing along with several beneficial security features that have been developed in recent years.

As with PCs (personal computers), video surveillance equipment has experienced significant technological advancements over the past ten years, while prices have continuously dropped.

Security cameras are being sold today at much lower prices, and due to better technology the quality of the images that are captured by these cameras has improved significantly.

Without The Prior Implementation Of Physical & Electronic Security Measures, Many Homes Will Receive A False Sense Of Security With Just A Video Surveillance System Installed!

It is extremely important that other security measures are implemented before a video surveillance system is even considered.

Unfortunately many people do not realize what security measures they need to implement in order to provide their home & family with the best security protection possible.

To make a home as secure as reasonably possible, it is important to understand the different levels of protection that different security measures provide.

Why Security Cameras Are Not Enough

It is regrettable that so many families do not fully realize this & have implemented certain security measures while ignoring some less costly but highly effective measures of protection.

It is extremely important to implement the physical security measures needed to improve the security of all entry points into your home.

Other physical security measures include ensuring the home has adequate & effective:

outdoor security lighting trimming back trees, bushes & shrubbery

Without taking these two basic steps, you could be helping to hide an intruders presence.

These physical security measures make up your first line of defence & they really should be implemented before your second line of defence (Home Alarm System) is even considered.

It is unfortunate the vast number of homeowners that investe a large sum of money in a home alarm system & totally ignore the most basic physical security measures.

While most of these home owners are likely receiving a better feeling of security with an alarm system installed in their homes, without the implementation of the most basic physical security measures, they are experiencing a false sense of security.

History seems to be repeating itself with video surveillance systems becoming much more affordably priced. A homes occupants would certainly receive a false sense of security without the prior implementation of physical & electronic security measures.

When it comes to protecting our homes against burglary & the violent criminals that carry out home invasions, we need to implement the security measures that offer the most effective level of protection possible.

In these hard economic times, many people only have a limited amount of funds that they can use to increase the safety & security for their home & family. With only a limited amount of security dollars available, they really need to understand what security measures will provide them & their families with the highest level of protection.

Increasing the security of your homes perimeter (all windows & exterior doors) in most cases will be one of the lowest costing security measures you can take. It is also the first security measure that any home should implement as it will provide you &your family with your strongest level of protection.

It is unfortunate that many people do not realize how important physical security measures are to the overall protection of their home. One of the main reasons for this misunderstanding is because it is not in the best interest of those who have been providing consumers with advice on home security for years to discuss the importance of physical security measures.

Consumers have been provided with advice on the best way to make their homes more secure by home security system retailers & alarm monitoring companies for many years.

Unfortunately it is not in their best interest to inform consumers how important it is for them to first look after all physical security measures. If home security system retailers & alarm monitoring provided this education, they run the chance of losing out on some of those security dollars that they earn from the sales of their products & services.

Now that video surveillance systems have become increasingly popular with residential consumers, people can expect even more limited advice from video surveillance retailers.

It is not in their best interest to inform consumers how important it is for them to look after physical & electronic security measures prior to having a video surveillance system installed in their home.

You may not have to fret about the costs of installing a home security system. Many companies are offering affordable monitored and wireless security system installation, and on top this there are many discounts that homeowners can receive after installing a security system.Finding it hard to choose the right home security system for your home? Learn how to find the right alarm system for your home with this guide. Your family’s safety depends on it.

Not all homes are secure. Family members need to make it safe from intruders and calamities such as fire. People try to make homes safe by keeping doors locked, lights on, and valuables hidden in clever places. But burglars are a clever breed who try to devise ways to break into the safest of homes. One of the best ways to keep them out is to use a quality electronic security system. A security system is a comprehensive arrangement of control panels, touch pads, sirens and smoke and motion sensors. There are several kinds of security systems available in many prices. Choice depends on size of the house, features, number of products used, and advancement of systems. A suitable combination can be worked out according to specific budgets. Many professional companies help decide on what is suitable and available for a given home. Not so long ago, a home security system was deemed an expensive, luxury commodity and only the rich could afford to have them. These days, home alarm systems are so reasonably affordable that anyone can buy one. They are also far more sophisticated and reliable than earlier systems. So what about the installation? It doesn’t have to cost anything to install a home security system. Read on to find out why.

If you’ve decided to rig up a full-fledged home security camera system as part of your DIY effort, you could arrange your contacts in such a way that they’ll activate your security cameras. And Infrared security cameras will eliminate the need for lighting. We really have to invest the safety of things or person we love the most. Who would ever want to have no peace in mind as you leave your home for work? Much more when you get to sleep?

Computers crimes are everywhere these days, there are entire divisions of law enforcement teams devoted to working on crimes that, in one way or another are linked to the use of a computer. The root of many of the crimes perpetrated through the use of a computer stem from the fact that the highly sensitive information present on many personal and business computers isn’t disposed of properly. You may not realize it, because it may not really seem like a big deal at the time, but you have tons of highly sensitive information stored on your personal…It is a known fact that single-family homes are often targets for home burglaries. A home security system is an effective way to reduce your risk of home intrusion and theft, while ensuring the safety of your possessions and family.

Home security systems are often thought of just in terms of deterring burglars, but many security system companies as well as homeowners themselves have come to understand that home security systems can offer many more benefits as well. In the last few years, one of the innovations in the industry is to offer fire monitoring in addition to security monitoring. Something that has just recently been introduced is the ability to protect pets at home alone in the event of a fire due to fire monitoring through a home security system. Did you know that a home security system is the best burglar deterrent you can have? Many people don’t think about security at home until it is too late and they have become victims.

Recent findings show that there are two main crime deterrents against home burglaries or theft. These include two simple things that everyone can do to help keep their home safe. Neighborhood watch programs help to deter crime in local areas. Home Security Systems should qualify as a top-level priority for anyone seriously concerned about their own well-being, that of their family and that of their personal possessions. These days, installing a home security cameras and systems is far from being the colossal hassle it was in the past, when the technology was developing and adequate knowledge was limited to those with an understanding of sophisticated electronics and complicated, arcane computer user interfaces.

With the rate of crime growing at a rapid pace, making sure you are protected is more important than ever. So, what is the best way to protect your home from intruders, which may harm you, your family, or your belongings? The answer, and of course, is home security protection. The best home security system isn’t always as simple to find as it should be. While it may seem like one of the top rated systems should trump all the rest, the fact is that differences in your needs may make one system better for you than another.

Security of your home and beloved ones is always your top priority. This makes it all the more important to compare home security systems before buying a system of your choice. Before buying a security system for your home you should carry out proper research to find the most appropriate system for your home.Home security, though once in the realm of “professionals only”, now can be tackled by do-it-yourselfers. Obviously, there are many levels of skill among do-it-yourselfers, but just because yours may be very basic, don’t think there is nothing you can do. Even the very beginner do-it-yourselfer can take viable home security steps. As one’s skill level increases, so do the possibilities.

Current statistics from the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) shows that a burglary takes place every 15 seconds within the United States. Additional statistics indicate that a home with a security system is two to three times more likely to be burglarized. Are you looking for information on a DIY home security system that you can install in your home, and bring an unparalleled sense of safety to your family? Most people who research home security systems end up with an expensive monthly service and high installation costs that rely on remote monitoring and sometimes unreliable signals.

Camera based home security systems are more popular today than ever before. This is due to the inexpensive prices, and the advanced technology. Hundreds of thousands of families now enjoy the benefits of feeling safe and secure in their homes because of these new security systems. What really is Residual Income? It’s income that keeps coming in, regardless of what you do, as long as the results stay in place. Some people have started to call it mailbox money.

Wireless home security systems offer you a wide range of advantages over their classic wired alternatives. The next few paragraphs discusses the top 5 benefits that make them the preferred choice.

Many people utilize numerous ways and means of boosting their house security and wireless home security systems are usually touted as 1 of the very best ways of utilizing home security. Some other methods are – by using watchdog, use of wired camera security systems, joining a neighborhood watch group, use of alarm systems, state-of-the-art locks along with an array of different security systems or procedures (some of which are quite weird). There’s probably none questioning the fact that all these traditional home security measures are fairly effective. However, wireless house security systems appear to have an advantage more than these traditional home security measures.
The wireless security systems, like wireless camera security system have five primary advantages more than their wired counterparts:

1. Very easy to setup: The wireless home security systems are actually so easy to install that you may put them to use all by yourself. There’s no require for getting external help regarding installation/ configuration of a wireless security system. This is an benefit simply because in such a case only you’d know the location of your wireless security cameras and the security codes and so on. Conversely , most wired security systems are fairly a hassle due to their built in ‘wire-ful’ makeup. Controlling these types of wires can be fairly a challenge in itself and then in tackling all those wires, you frequently tend to shed concentrate from the actual task i.e. correct and intelligent installation of a home security system. With wireless home security systems, you only need to concentrate in your home security plan with out being concerned about where you would run the wires from etc etc.

2. Freedom in altering your home security plan): Having a wireless security system, you can effortlessly alter your house security plan every time you want e.g. the location of outdoor wireless security cameras can be easily changed in a very hassle-free way. On the contrary, a wired home security system could have you wondering concerning the wiring plan and the related hassle even prior to you are able to believe of altering your home security plan.
Also the wireless system can be Installed anywhere. Since wireless security systems bypass the utilization of wires, you can set them up anyplace you’d like as long as they are in the spectrum of their controller. This really helps make things extremely handy. You can install the wireless house security cameras in the bushes, on the outdoor patio or just about any point that you wish to monitor. This is certainly something that you simply wouldn’t be able to attain with a wired security camera. Additionally, wireless home security also comes in camouflaged forms e.g. wireless home security cameras pre-fitted (or pre-hidden) in a light fixture or a show piece etc.

3. Extra safe and secure: Wireless security can also be regarded as better compared to wired security. A wired security program can quickly become un-operational should the wires become severed mainly due to not enough maintenance or because of intentional tampering by thieves and so on. However, wireless home security is challenging to tamper with in that sense (sophisticated thieves and burglars might still be able to tamper low-end wireless security systems using equipment that disrupt the wireless signals).

4. Better appearance: 1 extremely distinctive benefit with wireless home security systems is that they’re in no way messy. Although a wired security system will have wires running all throughout your home (unless you would like to compromise on your home security), a wireless security system (because of its normal ‘wireless’ characteristics) would give an a lot cleaner look and with out any compromises on the security of one’s home.

5. Simplicity of maintenance: A wired security system is larger (because the wires utilized for a wired security system also create part of the security system. Having a bulky system is generally more difficult and requires a lot more effort than the usual easy, much less bulky one. The wires might require replacements or re-anchoring and also re-routing etc. In case you go searching for a home improvement, your wired security systems might get affected quite a bit. However, with wireless security most of these issues are usually non existent and therefore their upkeep is fairly simple
.
Wireless security is often treated as probably the most apt answer to the home security concerns. Nevertheless, the very best thing to complete would be to use a combination of conventional home security strategies together with some of the wireless home security systems.

Home security is on everyone’s minds these days, as we Americans are feeling more and more vulnerable in our homes, neighborhoods, cities, and even our country. Do what you can to secure your own little part of the world by increasing your home security.

Nowadays, deadbolts and a Doberman aren’t enough. Sophisticated criminals get past such home security measures, and violent criminals know how to bypass your basic home security. You have to fight to keep them out. Home Security Stores gives you the defenses and the weapons to protect your castle.

The Statistics

It may shock you to know that more than 40 percent of break-ins occur during the day, in broad daylight. Criminals know when you are away at work or school, and they take that chance to smash-n-grab. Secure your home 24 hours a day, seven days a week, because you never know when a criminal will strike.

Basic Home Security

Though basic home security may not be enough, it should not be ignored. Protecting your home starts with three basic home security measures: lock up, yard word, and light up.

1) Lock Up

Begin by installing sturdy locks on all your doors and windows. It may be tempting to leave the door unlocked when you are home, or to leave the window open on a hot night, but that is poor home security. Home security common sense requires you to remain vigilant at all times, and that includes properly securing yourself in your home.

2) Do Some Yard Work

Next, trim back bushes from lower windows. Criminals can easily hide in bushes and break in through windows. Trees provide problems as well, so cut tree limbs that create easy access to upper stories. The thought of someone scaling a tree to break into your home may seem implausible, but it happens. Total home security is a must, no matter how unlikely something seems to you.

3) Light Up

Finally, put the criminal in the spotlightliterally. Light up your property with motion sensor lights or flood lights that leave criminals nowhere to hide. Home security starts by making criminals NOT want to break into your home. Shedding some light on the matter may be enough to drive them away.

Three Best Home Security Options

But what if this criminal is particularly determined to get past your basic home security? Not to fear, because technological advances have made home security into a powerful art form.

Home Security Stores offer a wide variety of methods to protect your home and family. Home security can mean alarms, locks, motion sensors, safes, and personal safety devices.

Option 1: Alarms

When we hear the term home security, alarms are what we might think of first. Whether wired or wireless, home security alarm systems are a major deterrent for criminals. They monitor points of entry, such as doors and windows, or they monitor for motion when the home should be empty.

Motion Sensor Home Security

Motion sensor home security monitors and detects when unauthorized motion occurs in what should be an empty home. Modern motion sensor home security can even distinguish between a pet and a criminal, making this method of home security even more effective and dependable. Install a motion sensor home security alarm system in your home and know you have no unwelcome guests.

Window Break Home Security

Windows are a popular point of entry because they are made of breakable glass. But there are home security devices that can detect when that glass is broken, setting off an alarm and scaring away the intruder.

Option 2: Motion Sensor Floodlights

We’ve already suggested good lighting around the exterior of your home, but you can save some energy by installing home security motion sensor floodlights that only come on when motion is detected. Security professionals highly recommend floodlights as a criminal deterrent.

Option 3: Security Cameras

How about having your home guarded 24/7 by a watchful eye? Security cameras, which are popular with merchants and other businesses, are fast becoming popular home security devices as well. A home security camera system monitors and records activities going on anywhere around your house. You can monitor a live feed or secretly tape what’s going on when you are away from home. Cameras act as an excellent deterrent and are extremely useful in the prosecution of criminals. Home security cameras catch them in the act.

So Many More Options

You have many options in home security. Complete home security means securing your home from more than just intruders. Protect yourself and your family from a variety of emergencies with:

  Smoke Alarms
Heat Sensors
Fireproof Safes
Freeze Alarms
Temperature Sensors
Water Alarms
Water Sensors
Carbon Monoxide Detectors
Personal Safety Alarms
Pepper Spray
Animal Repellent
Panic Buttons
Guide Lights
Voice Dialers
Biometric Readers
Wireless Intercoms

Home security is big business these days. Follow our simple guidelines and you’ll have peace of mind and comfort in your home.

Home Security Inspections.

With violent home invasions and burglaries on the rise, you may find yourself asking how you can affordably protect your home and loved ones against these heinous crimes. As if providing a roof over your family’s heads isn’t challenging enough, there’s also the responsibility of keeping them safe and secure both inside and outside the home.

During the day, you remind your children to look both ways before crossing the street and to never talk to strangers. And at night, you take it upon yourself to make sure all the doors and windows are locked, and maybe even set your home’s security alarm if you have one. You then go to bed trusting that these measures will keep your family safe and secure through the night. But what you don’t know is that these devices alone aren’t always enough to keep danger from entering your home.

For decades, alarm systems have given homeowners a false sense of security. As children, many of us are taught that home alarms will protect us. But today’s statistics tell a different story. In reality:

Home burglary takes place every 15 seconds in the U.S.
Up to 80% of home invasions are performed forcibly through a “locked” door.
60% of rapes occur inside the female victim’s home.

As adults, our false sense of security is often perpetuated through the advice of security alarm salespeople. Although we’re told that having an alarm system installed in the home is the best way to protect us, the truth of the matter is that most alarm company employees are hired to “sell” security products and have no formal training in home security. They work on a commission structure based solely on the price of the products they sell to a customer and the length of time the customer is willing to sign a security monitoring agreement. Their main goal is to make moneynot to protect you and your family.

Regardless of what a salesperson tells you, the key to staying safe is to keep the bad guys out of your home. And a security system can’t do that for you. An alarm can only let you know when someone has entered your homean already potentially dangerous situation.

The only way you can know for sure if your home offers the necessary security to keep you and your family safe is to have a home security inspection performed. Not only do these types of inspections show you what areas of your home are strong in security, they point out which areas of your home are most vulnerable and potentially placing you and your family in harm’s way.

Think about it. When purchasing a dwelling we are highly encouraged to have a home inspection performed. As a matter of fact, most banks will not even approve your loan without the home first being inspected. Doing so helps us to know what areas of the home pose a potential danger and costly repairs. The majority of home buyers look at the expense of a good inspection as an investment, as it helps to eliminate any surprises and lets them know up front what needs fixing to eliminate potential risks. Unfortunately, these routine home inspections leave out critical elements, and that is the home’s level of security.

There is not one single security product on the market that can prevent a criminal from entering your home. However, with a certified home security inspection, you can find out exactly what your home requires in terms of affordable security upgrades to keep would-be intruders from entering it. A good security home inspector can also show you simple changes you can make to the outer premises of your home to deter criminals from targeting it in the first place.

When having a security inspection, it’s important to have the inspection performed by a “certified” home security inspector. One such company that offers home security inspections by certified inspectors is Global Security Experts. Not only does this company have decades of expertise in designing and manufacturing their own security products, they work directly with their customers to teach them how improper home security increases the likelihood of their home being burglarized, vandalized, or worse.

Global Security Experts’ certified home security inspection is a one-time expense. Their 75-point inspection is very comprehensive, providing video coverage and still photos of vulnerable areas. Their inspections are designed to bring to light both the strong and weak points of your home’s current level of security, and include such things as:

Evaluation of your home’s existing alarm system and whether there is proper implementation of motion and glass break sensors.
Inspection of all doors, windows, locks, glass, crawl spaces, etc.
Assessment of interior/exterior lighting conditions and how this protects or hinders your home’s security.
Review of outside landscaping, looking for trees, bushes, walls, and other fixtures that pose a risk and offer criminals easy access into your home.
A comprehensive report including photos, video of problem areas, and recommendations for improving your home’s overall security.

In the case of home security, what we don’t know can hurt us. With today’s crime statistics, it’s easy to see that the locks and alarms we rely on to keep us safe aren’t always enough. With a certified home security inspector reviewing your home, you can learn practical ways to better protect you and your family and keep dangerous intruders out.

Wireless Home Security System

January 3, 2010

Do you have a security system protecting your, office, home or apartment? If the answer is no, then the question is Why not? Burglaries take place every 15 seconds in America. That would be nearly 6000 burglarys a day. The odds of you becoming the next statistic are increasing every day if you do not take proactive steps to deter criminals.

Criminals want to get in and get out of a building quickly. Any sign of an alarm is going to send them on their way. Even if they do decide to enter the high decibel alarm should scare them off. If you all ready have an alarm use it. If you dont have one its probably time to purchase one.

The great thing about todays home security systems is that they are wireless, require no setup, installation is very easy, and the cost is extremely affordable. Consider the Home Safe Wireless Home Security System and you can quickly and easily provide high quality security to your home or small business.

The HOMESAFE WIRELESS HOME SECURITY SYSTEM is an affordable solution to your home or office security needs. This easy to operate security system will sound an alarm and dial up to 5 preset phone numbers to let you know motion has been detected or a door or a window has been opened in your home. A land line with tone dialing is required.

HOW IT WORKS
1. When the door/window sensor or motion detector is triggered, it sounds an alarm and sends a signal to the base unit.
2. The base unit dials the first telephone number of your programmed list.
3. The person answering the call will hear a prerecorded alert message.
4. That person will have the option to listen in on the room, broadcast their voice through the base unit, or disarm the system.
5. If there is no answer, or if the person doesnt disarm the system, it will dial the next number on your programmed list. Includes 1 base unit with AC adaptor, 1 window/door sensor (wireless transmission up to 250 feet), 1 motion detector (range 8 yards) and 1 remote control with panic feature for arming and disarming the unit.

Taking your home security seriously and prioritizing your family’s safety entails looking into the different security systems that you can choose to install in your residence. Here are some facts that a lot of consumers want to know regarding home alarms, how these systems work and the advantages of having one set up in your home.

No Complete Guarantees Offered by Security Companies

It is impractical to assert that having home alarms, even one that is top-of-the-line will totally make sure that your home will not be burglarized. It is still a better idea to have a home security system set up in your home because, based on statistics, a criminal is less likely to break into a home that has a home alarm.

Alarm Systems Can be Installed for People Who Lease Their Homes

Renting your place entitles you to the same protection that homeowners have with the installation of quality home alarms whether these are wired or wireless alarm systems. Your prized possessions can be kept more secure with a burglar alarm in your apartment. Members of your household can also sleep more soundly with an activated burglar alarm. If homeowner’s get to save money on their home insurance when they avail of security systems, then so do renters with their renter’s insurance policy.

Cellular Alarm Monitoring

This is a type of security service that a lot of security companies are now offering to their consumers. For people who do not have a phone line, companies can use VOIP or cellular radio and provide alarm monitoring services for people who need it. You get to save money without worrying about your phone bill or being concerned about monitoring fees from your security company.

Compatibility of Alarm Systems with VOIP Phone Services like Comcast or Vonage

The fact is that security companies in general cannot promise that their home alarm systems will work at a hundred percent efficiency all the time with VOIP phone services. There have been companies who have successfully done so and it is better to make sure of this before you avail of this type of service.

It is still better to use cellular radio as an alternative to using VOIP phone services. Choosing to install a cellular radio or a landline as a way for your phone service to work with your home security is a more viable option that can generate better results over time.

Pets Can Sometimes Trigger Your Home Alarm

In most cases where home alarms have been tripped by pets, motion detectors were the security equipment that caused alarms to go off. Interior alarms such as motion sensors can be equipped with pet immunity features. This enables you to still protect your home and enable your pets to move about freely in your home without triggering your residential alarm system. Doors and windows are perimeter zones where pets are likely to cause false alarms.

Insurance Discounts with the Installation of a Home Alarm

You get a chance to save money when you have a home security system installed. Different insurance companies have specific policies and rates and asking your insurer about these things will allow you to take advantage of discounts that can help with your finances. The logic behind these discounts is that insurance companies are aware of the positive impact that a home alarm can have on the safety of your insured assets. You are less likely to be a victim of property crime when you have a secure home. Ask for these incentives from your insurer so that you will not miss out on an opportunity to cut back on costs.

When you decide to sell your home, and it’s going to be vacant, you may be thinking of installing an home security alarm system. But before you do, you have to make sure you understand a few things. For starters, the secret code won’t be a secret for long. Whether it’s published on the MLS, or given to all potential buyer’s agents via phone or email, the secret will be out.

Alarms provide protection while your home is vacant or not. But you have to remember that the alarm can actually become a nuisance when instructions aren’t followed, whether it’s the instruction on the listing page stating that the buyer’s agent should call beforehand for the code (and they don’t) or if the step-by-step instructions hanging on the wall directly next to the alarm seem to be written in some other language.

To avoid these mishaps, selling agents can opt to show the house by appointment only, since too many times buyers agents don’t call for the code and the proper authorities are contacted, the alarm company is contacted and eventually the selling agent is contacted. But there are other options too. That’s why you have to decide whether or not the alarm system is actually a good idea.

Here are some tips you can utilize if you don’t want the hassles of an alarm system:

Fool the dummies with dummies. Dummy cameras, yard signs and window decals are all great ways to try and fool an intruder. Install motion detectors for all areas. Front yard, back yard and the sides of your homes will light up if motion is detected and generally scare the intruder away. Timed interior lights could also deter intruders and trick them into thinking someone is home. As a selling agent, recommend to your clients that leaving some furniture in the home, including knick-knacks on windowpanes and a couch or hanging plants will help make the home look like someone is living there still.

Again, these are just some ideas to help you get through the joys of home selling, with hopefully, less stress. Alarm systems are a great way to secure your home, however sometimes they’re more of a hassle than a luxury.
